From bling and bobbles to bottles filled with holiday spirits Lake Geneva really shines during the holiday season! So, grab your favorite shopping buddies and make a fun holiday trip you won't soon forget. Historic boats are decked out with twinkling lights and filled with holiday music and cheer.

OUR WINTER HARBOR

As guests arrive, they will be greeted by the sounds of the Delavan-Darien High School Orchestra performing in the Fireside Lounge. Then, they can enjoy our bountiful buffet with the kids in our Lake Lawn Room and Geneva Club. As an additional treat, the kids will have the opportunity to visit with Santa in his large igloo on the Lakeview Terrace. We will also have a room set aside for various crafts, including ornament making, cookie decorating, and more.

Santa Cruise on the Lake Geneva Cruise Line

While the boat is heated and indoors, you’ll still want everyone dressed warmly. You’ll be going in and out from the Christmas Tree Barn, down the pier, and at the marina which can be chilly. There are also outdoor areas on the boat for you to sit and take in the lights. For a dining venue that hits the spot before or after your cruise, add Pier 290 to your itinerary! Pier 290 is the one and only restaurant that is lakeside through every season. With toasty fireplaces, festive music, and out-of-this-world cuisine, Pier 290 makes the perfect place to begin or top off your Santa Cruise excursion.

Embrace the Holiday Spirit in Lake Geneva

Gallery 223 is a creative space downtown that houses local artist's work. Their Winter Art Exhibit is such a festive experience and fun for the whole family. See stunning watercolor & oil paintings, photography, pottery, and more as you browse their collections. Enjoy their holiday market for unique artisan gifts and even sign up for a class or two to become an artist yourself. The Lake Geneva Santa Cruise lights up the holiday season for kids and adults from beginning to end with greetings from jolly characters.

A magical time of year at Grand Geneva

The highlight is a visit to Santa's Hideaway, where he will greet you from the shore next to a dazzling light display and read out your child's name on his "nice" list, says the cruise website. Once aboard, you’re in a fully enclosed cabin to keep everyone cozy. There are spaces to step outside and get a closer look at the lights as well.

TOUR-SPECIFIC FAQS

All this is before the boat stops right outside Santa’s hideaway, where he’ll come out, wave at the passengers on the boat and call out each of the child passengers’ names. Lake Geneva is the perfect place to spend a day or even a weekend checking off all of your holiday gift lists! You can find fashion forward clothing, festive home décor, and a treasure trove of unique gifts for all of your loved ones in our downtown shopping district. We'll have a couple favorite holiday craft and vendor fairs this time of year too!

Arrival Times, Restrooms, and Additional Tips

The kid’s menu features pizza, chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, and other kid-friendly staples. You’re able to bring drinks on, however, you won’t be able to purchase anything once you’re on the boat. The Santa Cruise includes several lighted displays along the shoreline of Geneva Lake that attendees can view during their ride. Last Friday, my family and I rode on the Santa Cruise to find Santa’s secret hideaway on the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. We had a holly jolly good time experiencing this unique way to see Santa.

Private lakeshore homes are not decorated for the holidays – most homes are summer residences. All lighted displays are provided by Gage Marine and Lake Geneva Cruise Line. On our cruise, we were told that we were going to Santa’s North Pole hideaway.
